1993 – 2002 (Cycling)
Dominance in cycling
Mapei's experience in sports began in the 1990s with its incredible cycling adventure, forming a team that reached the top of all international rankings, achieving 654 victories between 1993 and 2002.
The Mapei team was a global benchmark, a project that marked an era for its results and the scientific and organizational approach it introduced to the discipline.
Today, the Group is the Main Partner of the UCI – Union Cycliste Internationale Road World Championships.
Never stop pedaling, Giorgio Squinzi's motto, accompanies Mapei's sporting and professional life, continuing to instill confidence and enthusiasm.
The Sassuolo Calcio project
Sassuolo's climb
Since 2003, the football era began with the acquisition of U.S. Sassuolo Calcio. Together, the company and the club have built a continuous growth path, from Serie C2 to Serie A, even competing in the Europa League.
This project represents a model of proximity to the local community and the development of young talents and women's football.

A new chapter
From Class40 to Vendée Globe
Since 2022, Mapei has been sailing the oceans alongside
Ambrogio Beccaria.
It all began with the Class40 project: a natural choice for Mapei, which has always believed in sport as a space for growth and innovation.
Since 2025, the company has been the Main Sponsor of the Allagrande Mapei Racing project in the IMOCA class, the highest level of offshore sailing.
The goal is to compete at the highest levels and prepare to tackle the most iconic challenge in offshore sailing in 2028: the Vendée Globe, the solo round-the-world race without stops.

A shared responsibility
Mapei and Allagrande Mapei Racing also share a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Just as Mapei is committed to developing increasingly durable and low-environmental-impact building solutions, the Allagrande Mapei Racing project integrates specific environmental monitoring activities, such as collecting microplastics along ocean routes, contributing to scientific research and knowledge of marine ecosystems.
A contribution to sports research
Mapei provides expertise and facilities that go beyond sponsorship.
The Mapei Sport Research Centre supports Ambrogio in his athletic preparation, as well as providing medical-sports and nutritional assistance, contributing to the optimisation of his performance in a particularly complex environment such as the ocean.
This collaboration also represents a research opportunity: solo sailing allows us to collect data useful for understanding the human body's response in extreme conditions, contributing to the development of scientific knowledge applied to sport.
