The project

The only Italian ocean sailing project in the IMOCA class. Ambrogio Beccaria and his team heading towards major international challenges: from the Route du Rhum 2026 to the Vendée Globe 2028.

The DNA of our project

An Italian project with an operational base in France, built season after season together with an international team of professionals with diverse skills, each with their own role in a collective work that grows with the project

The path to excellence

After acquiring a latest-generation IMOCA with Mapei's support, Beccaria's team aims to build performance over time and achieve a high level in major ocean races, with the Vendée Globe 2028 as the benchmark.

Engineering and optimization

Together with a group of engineers and technicians, and through Ambrogio Beccaria's choices, the work focused on the development and optimization of the boat in order to be competitive on the entire IMOCA circuit.

01

Where it all began

The project was born after Ambrogio Beccaria's successes in the Mini 6.50 and Class40 classes.

After winning some of the main races in these classes, including the Mini Transat 2019, the Transat Jacques Vabre 2023, and The Transat CIC 2024, he established himself as one of the protagonists of international ocean sailing.

02

A New Horizon: The IMOCA Class

After several high-level results and with Mapei's support already active in the Class40 project, the move to IMOCA marks a decisive change of scale. The boat will be acquired in 2025

03

2025: The First Season

The first season sees Ambrogio participate in The Ocean Race Europe and the Transat Café l'Or, in collaboration with Thomas Ruyant's team: a key step to familiarize himself with the boat.

04

2026: Only with the Ocean

Since then, the team has structured itself and the work has picked up pace. 2026 marks Ambrogio's first full solo season in the IMOCA class, marking a fundamental moment in his sporting and technical journey.

05

Towards the Vendée Globe

The journey in the IMOCA class represents a multi-year project, built with a gradual and structured approach.

From European regattas to major ocean crossings, each stage contributes to developing experience, reliability, and performance, with an eye towards the Vendée Globe.

A challenge that embodies the spirit of the project: facing the ocean with competence, determination, and vision, pushing oneself a little further each time.

Sustainability

The commitment of the Allagrande Mapei Racing team

Along with the sports program, the project also carries out initiatives related to sustainability.

Bianca Bertolini, an environmental engineer, works within the team as Sustainability Project Manager. In 2025, a first project for the collection and analysis of microplastics at sea was launched, using an instrument installed on board.

The data collected is currently being analyzed in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano.
