The fifth leg of The Ocean Race Europe turned into a real celebration for Allagrande Mapei, which claimed victory in front of its home crowd, welcomed in the evocative atmosphere of Genoa's Porto Antico.
The days spent in the Ligurian city created an opportunity for meeting and sharing: clients, friends, journalists, and Mapei personnel were able to experience the spirit of the regatta up close, meeting Ambrogio Beccaria and the crew, visiting the boat, and participating in moments of interaction and discovery.
On Thursday, September 4th, the Porto Antico hosted an exclusive aperitif on the deck terrace in front of the regatta boats, with a guided tour of Allagrande Mapei by Bianca Bertolini, Project & Sustainability Manager of the Allagrande Racing Team, who illustrated the unique features of this boat. The entire Management also participated in the evening, testifying to the importance of the project, and spent time on the boat for in-depth discussions with Ambrogio.
The following Saturday, the official victory was celebrated: after the third place on the podium in Nice, this was the first leg victory in this edition of The Ocean Race Europe, achieved right at home, which made it even more special. The awards ceremony was followed with great enthusiasm by the team, sponsor representatives, and the Genoese public.
The city came alive again on Sunday, September 7th, at the time of departure for Boka Bay, with the Sailors Parade, the teams' parade supported by the warm participation of guests, friends, and family, and the Dock-Out Show. Amidst cheers and flags, the traditional dive was not missed, entrusted this time to YouTuber Francesco Sena, a special "jumper" who greeted the crowd with a spectacular and entertaining performance.
Genoa represented a symbolically significant stop for Allagrande Mapei: not just a won regatta, but an occasion for pride and belonging, which further unites the team, partners, and supporters. A new chapter of passion and success on the journey to the seas of the future
