The Vendée Arctique 2026, Ambrogio Beccaria's first solo race aboard "Allagrande Mapei", has officially begun. This morning, Ambrogio left the legendary channel of Les Sables d'Olonne to an enormous crowd and a stadium-like roar: an exciting spectacle that accompanied him and the rest of the fleet towards the starting line.

After the 1:02 PM start, with splendid sunny weather and light winds around 5 knots, Ambrogio chose a route further to the right compared to some of the fleet. A decision that might seem disadvantageous at the moment, but the Vendée Arctique is a long race, there are still 3000 miles to go, and intense days of sailing and strategy await us!
